Nasscom has nominated Krishnan Ramanujam of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its chairperson for 2022-23.

Krishnan served as vice-chairperson of Nasscom before becoming head of TCS’ enterprise growth business.

He replaces Rekha M Menon, Accenture India’s chairwoman and senior managing director.

Nasscom has also named Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari as its vice-chairperson for 2022-23.

According to a Nasscom statement, the new leadership will assist the industry body in achieving key priorities such as re-aligning and re-calibrating the course of the technology industry to maximise growth from technology potential to technology impact and reimagining India as the preferred hub for digital talent, innovation, and impact at scale.

“Today, the Indian technology industry is on a meteoric rise, with new chances to harness, challenge, and lead in this “techade.” “With the length and breadth of developments we’re seeing, India’s aim of a $350 billion sector by 2025 appears to be well within reach,” Ramanujam added.

“I look forward to continuing our efforts to stimulate growth by embracing the promise of cloud and other new technologies to enable inclusive, impact-led innovation and help India become the top global centre for digital talent,” he added.

The trade group said it will continue to engage with government agencies to develop policies that would help the Indian IT industry grow even faster.

“As we shape the techade,” Ghosh said, “I’m thrilled to have the chance to now work with Krishnan and Anant to pioneer ideas and propel the industry to new heights in this techade.”

“With his unique perspective and imaginative approach on the future of Indian IT, Krishnan will assist lead the sector in a time of uncertainty and potential.” “I’d also like to use this occasion to recognize Rekha Menon’s efforts to Nasscom, which have been vital and continue to have an impact on our future plan,” she said.
