The Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) announced on Tuesday that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nasscom FutureSkills Prime to address the demand for skilled professionals in the Indian IT/ITeS sector and to address the demand-supply asymmetry between skills and job opportunities. The relationship creates pathways for FutureSkills Prime students to find work in the staffing business, which is represented by Indian Staffing Industry members.

FutureSkills Prime is India’s National Digital Skilling Platform, which is led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) and Nasscom, the IT-BPM industry association.

“Through this cooperation, Indian Staffing Federation members will be able to recruit students from colleges and vocational training institutions by leveraging Nasscom’s reach in the education and skilling ecosystem.” Suchita Dutta, executive director of the Indian Staffing Federation, stated, “This might include evaluations that students can take to demonstrate competency, therefore helping them to find relevant work opportunities to increase their career possibilities and advancement.”

“Given the importance of contract staffing as a dominating model in the ‘Workforce of the Future as a path forward to work via the staffing business,” she noted, “ISF and Nasscom will also collaborate on cooperative research on vital workforce related themes.”

The ISF-FutureSkills Prime agreement would entail demand aggregation by ISF through its network of over 100 members in order to offer Career Services Support (CSS).

“As technology becomes more pervasive in both the tech and non-tech sectors, individuals’ digital fluency and skilling must become a top concern if they are to remain competitive and future-ready.” The IT-ITES workforce is heavily reliant on the staffing market. “This collaboration will assist boost employment alternatives while also providing insight into the nature and structure of future demands,” said Kirti Seth, Nasscom’s CEO of the IT-ITES Sector Skill Council.

Using the FutureSkills Prime ecosystem, among other things, the agreement will enable staffing organisations to have their employees (particularly IT-ITES white collar) get upskilled on new, developing technologies and related professional skills. In addition, with the FutureSkills PRIME ecosystem partners, including OEM and Training Partners, the SSC Nasscom will curate particular DeepSkilling programmes in linked courses for the staffing sector workforce in specific areas of new, developing technologies.
